ILMTech is the scientific and technological platform of the Institute for Light and Matter. ILMTech is a CNRS-certified platform.
Our vocation: to bring our skills, resources and culture of excellence to the service of innovative projects, useful for both academia and business. ILMTech is dedicated to synthesis and characterisation of matter for energy, materials of the future, photonics, health, environment… We are located in the Physics Quarter on the LyonTech La Doua Campus.
As we possess a large portfolio of competencies and expertise, our collaborators at the iLM can be mobilised on a number of projects. They are passionnate people, driven as much by academic research than the will to put the latter at the service of the broader society.
300 scientists, technical and administrative agents constitute the manpower of iLM at the date of writing. Every year, more than 150 interns from 2nd to 5th year university programmes and engineering schools assist them.
A researcher, expert in the field of your project and dedicated to its development, will be your privileged interlocutor. They will mobilise our in-house competencies to answer to our best the identified needs.
ILMTech benefits from experimental and theoretical tools for material elaboration and to study most if not all their properties: optical, electronic, mechanical, thermal, rheological, magnetic, etc. Light in particular is used to probe and shape matter across a wide range of space and time scales.
1.5 M€/year, or around 30% of our resources are invested in designing and engineering new instruments by our scientists and technical staff.
